You would connect the 220R resistors vertically.  The picture with the diagonal resistors is on an earlier PCB version.

Here's a picture of my v0.4 plugin with the resistors installed:

that's what mine looks like inside but i bought mine, i don't know like 2 years ago maybe

Yes, single wire from CLOCK pin to the cart edge connector.

I was going to do the mod anyway since the CLOCK is needed for the GG EEPROM save carts.  I didn't know about it also being needed for some Codemasters carts.

The SMS connector also lacks the CLOCK connection.  I'm waiting on a SMS Codemasters cart to check before I add that connection.

I'll document everything if I get it working.  I'm going to release the SMS/GG BETA as is since it isn't my code that is the problem.  If I can get the CLOCK mod working then I'll release an updated BETA with any code changes.

thanks, i have the official sms plugin with an added game gear connector so if there is a mod i can do to improve it more thats even better.

Yes, SEGA SMS/GG BETA firmware should be distributed to the BETA test group later today.

UPDATE:  There will be a delay in distributing the SMS/GG BETA.  I picked up a GG Codemasters cart (Micro Machines) that doesn't read properly with the Codemasters code that I implemented for GG Ernie Els Golf.  More testing to do...

UPDATE:  Looks like some Codemasters carts need the CLOCK for the mapper to work properly.  GG Ernie Els dumps properly without the CLOCK but others may not.  Unfortunately, the GG CLOCK pin is not connected on the production SMS adapter.
how easy can this be added, would it just be a single wire?

What would you recommend?
i always use pcbway there boards are pretty high quality.

this is from the dirtypcbs website:
Where are my damn PCBs?
Your Gerbers will be sent to the factory on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00am China time. There's no point in doing it sooner because they'll just queue them at the factory... Rush orders are pushed hourly, on the hour.
The factory takes 3-8 days to manufacture the boards. They batch as they please, it's cheapest. If it's a holiday in China we'll let you know before you order!
Boards come back to us, we ship them the same day
Hong Kong Post takes 1 to 8+ weeks, depending on where you are
DHL/FEDEX/UPS take 2-5days, tracking is provided 12-48 hours after shipment

whats the point waiting the extra time when you can order direct.

I will recommend SeeedStudio PCB
https://www.seeedstudio.com/fusion_pcb.html

Quite cheap. Fast DHL shipping, only two days arrive to Australia  :D

ive tried them before there boards are crap pcbway are much better

im also planning on perhaps adding a power switch and an internal 5v to 3.3v board like i did with my cable

Support / Re: Game Gear Roms Not Detecting Correct Size
« on: 08/Oct/2017 12:32:17 AM »
I finally modified my SMS plugin with a GG connector.

I checked the SMS/GG code to see what the cart heuristics looks like.   The code relies on the size in the ROM header with a supplemental modifier based on the product code.  The product code modifier looks specific to the SMS ROMs.

I've added a check for GG carts coded size "0" (256KB).  These are the carts that could be 256KB, 512KB, or 1MB.  The code fixes Garfield, Sonic 2, and the other 512KB and 1MB carts.

The fix will be in a new SEGA SMS-GG BETA firmware.

sweet i look forward to testing it

General Discussion / Re: Progress on N64/GBA save support?
« on: 04/Oct/2017 10:57:39 AM »
I have no idea on the SMS saves.  If there is anything to be done, then it will have to be done by someone else.

I'm sorry to say that I have no plans or interest in working on support for any other consoles.  If there was one console that I might eventually work on, it would be the GBA saves.

After I finish the N64 fixes, I'll be going back to looking for a solution for the SNES SA-1 SRAM writes.

Well, I picked up a couple SMS carts that use saves and I think I've fixed the SMS SRAM code.  I don't have an SMS console so I don't currently have a way of telling if the save data that I'm dumping is the correct data.  The SMS SRAM code was nearly complete but the initialization of the port/pins was incorrect.  I'm hoping to get a Powerbase unit soon to test the carts on my Genesis.  If I can confirm the save data, then I'll look into adding save data writes.

More testing to do...

feel free to shoot me a message with a retrode 1 update to test and i will see what i can do, i have a custom cart i made that will let me test pretty much any game.

ALCON,

I updated the Retrode Firmware to .22 using the link provided.
I used the FW instructions on the official Retrode site.
I still cannot get the SRM files to work with the emulators for genesis or SNES.
I even modified the [segaSram16bit] with no success.
I haven't tried older FW yet. That may solve the issue, I dunno.
Any advice welcome and is still needed.

I wont worry about the date then.
Thank all y'all for replying.

My new config File:

; Retrode .22 - Config
; Remove any line to revert setting to factory default

[HIDMode] 1 ; 0: Off; 1: 4Joy+Mouse; 2: 2Joy; 3: KB; 4: iCade
[blinkControllers] 1

[nesMode] 0         ; 1: NES gamepads; 0: SNES

[filenameChksum] 0  ; checksum in filename? 0=no, 1=yes
[detectionDelay] 5  ; how long to wait after cart insertion/removal
[sramReadonly] 0    ; write protect SRAM? 0=no, 1=yes
[segaSram16bit] 1   ; 0=no, 1=yes, 2=y+large
[sramExt] srm
[snesRomExt] sfc
[snesOverdump] 1    ; overdump correction? 0=no, 1=yes
[snesRomVer] 0      ; version instead of checksum? 0=no, 1=yes
[segaRomExt] bin
; Override autodetect:
[forceSystem] auto
[forceSize] 0
[forceMapper] 0
; Optional plug-ins:
[n64RomExt] n64
[gbRomExt] gb
[gbaRomExt] gba
[smsRomExt] sms
[ggRomExt] gg

is the rom you dumped working? because its possible it didnt read the card correctly or the size isnt exact.
what i do is download the rom of the game you want to dump then dump the rom and save off the retrode to your desktop and compare them to each other using HxD (the dumped rom and downloaded rom that is) and see if your dump is an exact match and if it is try it on an emulator again.

the other thing you might want to check is the emulator and make sure its loading the save you want it to load rather than it trying to load a save for your game from another directory.

where I can download the firmware 0.25 because on retrode.org I can download only 0.19 ?

im pretty sure only 0.22 is out not 0.25
