OK thanks, I understand. So this sounds like an issue, which can't be resolved by future firmware-updates, right?

I'm having a weird issue with the US-Cartridge of Street Fighter Alpha 2. Maybe it has to do with its Special Chip? At first I noticed that Snes9x gives me a bad-checksum-warning (the game seems to run though). While retrying, I noticed that the checksum changes everytime the Retrode is reset. here are two Logs, that were made by simply pressing the reset-button, without touching the cartridge (check out the line "Actual Checksum"):

Code: [Select]
File: H:\StreetFighterAlpha2465.sfc
Name: STREET FIGHTER ALPHA22
Speed: 32/FastROM
ROM Map: LoROM
Type: 43
Kart contents: ROM+S-DD1
Header ROM Size: 32Mbits
Calculated ROM Size: 32 Mbits
SRAM size: 0Kbits (0Kbit)
Actual Checksum: 0B44
Header Checksum: DB9A
Header Checksum Compliment: 2465
Output: NTSC 60Hz
CRC32: 13A6EF7D
Licensee: Nintendo
ROM Version: 1.0
Region: USA/Canada

I've tried it several more times and the checksum seems to change completely random every time. Isn't this weird?

General Discussion / Retrode on Wii with SNES Gamepads?
« on: 28/Jun/2012 04:08:37 PM »
Hi!

As most of you probably know already, the Retrode works pretty well on a Wii with HomebrewChannel and Snes9xGX.
However I was wondering if anyone has already tried to make the Retrode's SNES-Gamepad Connectors also work?

I've already googled around a little bit and found out that a HID-Driver for the Wii is probably too complicated to code. But the Retrode has Keyboard Emulation and USB-Keyboards are no problem for the Wii. Only Snes9xGX is missing Keyboard-Support, probably because the Author didn't think anyone would want to play SNES Games with a Keyboard :)

Do we have any talented coders here who would be able and willing to modify Snes9xGX's source code, so it could work with the Retrode's KB-mode? Or does anyone know if the original Author of Snes9xGX is aware of the Retrode and might be willing to implement this feature by himself?

It would be too awesome if I was able to play SNES games on the Wii with the original gamepads :D

Maybe I will get my hands on a copy of Mario RPG soon, then I can try :)

I just received my retrode a few days ago, and I'm already loving it :D

I read about compatibility issues with SA-1 games like Super Mario RPG. My idea about this topic was: Has anybody tried (or would be willing to try) tho disable the SA-1 inside the cartridge, as described in this short manual?

Maybe this way SA-1 games could work on a retrode?
